“Sameness” hardly seems like the most inappropriate word to describe anything associated with the recent Rotary International Convention in Toronto.
Believe it or not, I am in my 50th year as a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, having been inducted in 1969, the same year as Bob Crowe. We are not the oldest or longest-serving, living members of the Club.
Since 2014, the Wilmington Strategy Committee has been giving shape to the club's vision of Wilmington as a World Class City.
For the second year in a row, the Rotary Club of Wilmington has created a display of hundreds of large American flags at a public park in Wilmington to enable members, their friends and the community to honor their personal heroes.
Dating back to when Rotary first started in 1905 with Paul Harris, an attorney in Chicago, who thought that forming meaningful lifelong friendships and giving back to the community should be the pillars of an organization, Rotary has been alive and growing.
Planning for the Rotary Club of Wilmington Delaware’s 2015 Centennial began in 2003 when the History Committee which I then chaired began work on our Club history.
